I am so blessed to have to family and friends that I have. I am blessed to be alive and breathing this morning. We have to remember that each day is a gift from God and we need to thank him for each and everyone that we are blessed to be given.
I have been reading various inspirational blogs lately and I thought I whouls share a post from on of them, It is at "Under Grace & Over Coffee" I thought the bible studies that she listed were very interesting. You might want to go and check it out.
I just found this site also and I thought I would share it wil you. It is a Ladies site to In Courage you. Take a look around and let me know what you think. Please leave a comment and tell me what your thankful for today.
I have been working on this one for a couple of days now, and now only have to add words to finish it off. I do not like to work on a piece for more than 2 days because I start to lose interest, but I
think it will have to wait until tomorrow for the words to be added. I am loving the creative process and i wished that I had taken pictures along the way with this one.
Check out Allen Design's Giveaway you have until Midnight tonight to enter.
This picture was taken in Vermont, on our last summer road trip in July, 2008. I thought it was a beautiful scene. I would love to have a place like that to paint, it was small and quaint, and would be a nice place to sit and create.
I have been working on a few new backgrounds. I have completed the background for a new canvas and I have created the backgrounds for a couple of journal pages. I have also tried out Nevr-Dull for Art Backgrounds. Here a video that I watched for inspiration for using this product. I found it at my local Tractor Supply Store, they have it with the metal polish. It works very good, but the smell is very bad. I would suggest using it outside and not indoors unless you have good ventilation.
I love creating journal pages. I carry it every where, so that if I get a spare minute I will have ti to draw. I have gotten some of my best ideas while riding (not driving lol) down the road.
I carry a collection of different pens and markers and most of the time I create in Black and White while I am out and then add color when I get a chance at home. Some pages are left this way while others have color added, when I feel it will enhance the intial drawing.
I use Sharpie Pens, Faber Castle Drawing Pens, and Martha Stewart Craft and Art Markers. I always make sure to have a glue stick in my pouch so that I can add collage bits to a page while I am out. I have a old mint tin filled with small pieces of scrapbook paper, old books, paper punch shapes, and quotes written on small strips of paper for easy addition to a page. I also have a pouch of Metalic colored pencils and Watercolor Pencils as well as a small Windsor Newton Watercolor set. Tomorrow I will try to post a picture of what I carry with me and what organization tools that I use to help me keep up with my tools.
This mixed media painting is a large scale painting. It is a collage background with a glaze wash on the background around the face area. I used multiple colors of blues and greens to achieve thie illusion of depth. The dress piece is a glazed with many layers to achieve a more 3-D look. The face is another element that is created using colored pencil, marker and paint wash. The hair in also another element that was created using glazing techniques and markers. This piece is for sale for $75.
These are just a few of the quaint small towns that I love to visit.
